    Description
This two-day course will provide general overview and instruction of basic statistical methods associated with air quality science and regulations. Instructors include air quality engineers from the Center for Agricultural Air Quality and Engineering Science at Texas A&M University. Attendees will gain an understanding of statistical concepts and terminology, the application of statistics in the air pollution regulatory process, and discuss current real-world challenges with data and analysis in air quality.
    Who Should Attend
    Environmental Professionals that use statistics
    Leaning Objectives
Provide a basic understanding of the statistical concepts, methods, and tools used for evaluation of data used for air pollution regulations. Attendees will learn simple, yet effective tools to analyze data. This course is especially designed for environmental professionals to help them gain a better understanding of the statics used in environmental data analysis.

This short course is designed specifically for environmental professionals involved in the design, evaluation, or permitting of air quality systems, who would benefit from basic instruction in the statistical tools for evaluation of air quality data.
Topics include the characteristics of data distributions, central tendency, variation, regression analysis, correlation and causation, data smoothing techniques, and forecasting. Each period of instruction will be completely interactive, beginning with a short lecture, progressing to discussion, and culminating with either a group or individual exercise, to ensure understanding of the material. Classroom instruction also covers current events in the air pollution regulatory process. Attendees gain “hands-on” experience by participating in class discussions, working calculations, and completing worksheets/exams covering each
