    Description
    This introductory course is designed for new federal, state, local, and tribal environmental inspectors, and meets the training requirement under EPA Order 3500.1. The course provides an overview of all aspects of inspection preparation, conduct, and follow-up. The course also introduces various federal environmental laws and regulations. NO SITE VISIT.
    Classroom Requirements
    • Set up the main training room seats in a "U" shape due to considerable discussion between the participants/instructors.
    • Day prior to the course start date: Schedule an afternoon meeting with the local on-site contact to verify the AV equipment is working properly; copies of the course handouts are completed; and the training room is adequate for the course; and the location of the breakout rooms.
    • A projector with cables to hook up to a computer (Windows or Mac) to show the PowerPoint slides.
    • An extension cord to provide power for the projector and computer.
    • A TV and a DVD player to show a video used for the Practical Exercise.
    • Two to four (2-4) separate rooms (depends on class size) for the Practical Exercise on the afternoon of the first day other than the main training room.
    • Two to four (2-4) breakout rooms (depends on class size) on the afternoon of Day 2 and the morning of Day 3.
    • Make copies of course handouts and PowerPoint slides
    • 4 laptops for participants to prepare an inspection report with cables or other means to download their photos to thumb drives. The instructors will provide the thumb drives.
    • A flip chart
    • Wi-fi in the room if possible
