    This 1 and 1/2 day course is an overview of Oil and Gas Drilling rig operations with an emphasis on the methods, complexity, services, and personnel needed. A discussion on safety while on oil and gas locations will be presented.
    Who Should Attend
    Anyone that has an interest in Oil and Gas drilling methods.
    Leaning Objectives
    Students will learn the basic operations of how oil and gas well are drilled. Topics Covered: • Rig Equipment • Substructures • Drawworks • Derrick, • Rig Floor (Slips, Tongs, and Power Equipment) • Mud Pumps • Blow out preventors • Drill String and Drill Bits • Overview of the Rig Personnel and each person’s function and duties on a drilling site. • Rigging Up – Making a Connection, Drilling Surface, and Setting Casing • The Functions of Drilling Mud & the Mud System • Tripping Pipe, what it means and the purpose. • Measurement While Drilling (MWD), Coring, and Well Logging • Oil and gas drilling and the down-hole problems • Drill Rig Accidents & Safety • Pollution, Frackuring, and Cementing Issues.
